Saskatoon Health Region has made a public commitment to help solve Saskatchewan’s workplace injury epidemic. The Region signed the provincial Health and Safety Leadership Charter in June 2010 with several other employers in Saskatchewan.

The charter is an effort from Safe Saskatchewan and Work Safe Saskatchewan to bring business leaders together to be instrumental in improving the lives of Saskatchewan people, enhancing the economic environment for business, and saving millions of dollars in health and social costs – one workplace, one community and one family at a time.

Bruce Johnstone of the Regina Leader-Post cited the signing of the charter as ‘the latest, perhaps greatest, salvo in the way against unintentional injuries’ and Deputy Minister to the Premier, Doug Moen said, “I’m confident that one day we’ll look back at this health and safety leadership charter signing and say it was a real turning point.”
