Hundreds of hockey fans lined up at the 51st Street Boston Pizza to get autographs and take photos of their favourite hockey players as part of the 5th annual Jarret Stoll Celebrity Golf Classic.

The annual event organized by Royal University Hospital Foundation raised $213,500 this year and a total of more than $750,000 since its inception.

The funds raised support the Jarret Stoll Patient Comfort Fund Endowment for Children at Royal University Hospital. This year, the endowment fund helped purchase twin beds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to allow parents to stay overnight near their babies; an LCD/DVD combo to teach parents about caring for their babies after release from the NICU; Children’s music boxes, children’s movies and a TV/DVD combo for Nuclear Medicine; a pediatric resuscitation cart for the emergency department; living space at the Alvin Buckwold Child Development Centre so families of children with special needs can relax, prepare meals and entertain their children during long days at the clinic; and a special chair for children with feeding disorders in speech-language pathology.
