Security staff at Saskatoon City Hospital will have a greater presence with the addition of the Region’s second security vehicle. The first was placed at St. Paul’s Hospital and the second at Parkridge Centre last year.

In addition to extending safe-walks, security staff will also be able to increase the enforcement of parking regulations in the outdoor lots and roadways.

Ultimately however, a vehicle adds mobility and flexibility to Security Services. “We hope to be able to use these vehicles to expand our services throughout the Health Region,” says Dennis Rose, Assistant Manager of Security Services. “We have a number of non-acute care satellite buildings in the Region and we hope to eventually support those staff as well.”

This second vehicle will also support RUH requests for safe-drives. Depending on demand, the vehicle may be at SCH or RUH at any given moment, but is really only a short drive from either site.
