Construction is on schedule for a new long term care facility in Watrous. The 43-bed facility will be attached to Watrous Hospital and is scheduled for completion next summer.

Ed Collins, Mayor of Watrous, Dave Manson, RM representative and Murray Westby, Chairperson, Watrous and District Health Foundation, present a cheque for $700,000 to Shan Landry, Saskatoon Health Region Vice President of Community Services, as the first instalment of the local share portion for the project.

Crawlspace and roofing work is nearing completion now. Crews have begun framing the inside walls with one wing almost complete. The provincial government is contributing $9.1 million toward the project. Another $5.3 million is coming from local municipalities and a fundraising campaign.
