“You are about to begin a journey that will challenge you to think differently and approach problems in a new way,” said Saskatchewan’s Health Minister Dustin Duncan to the crowd of participants at the program launch. “With lean implementation in particular, we rely on strong leadership and coaching. The skills that you have acquired here will be critical to engaging staff and helping them contribute to their full potential. You’re participating in this leadership program at an incredibly exciting time in Saskatchewan’s health-care history.”

The participants are from health regions across the province as well as the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. The week-long launch of their learning-by-doing journey included coaching skills, the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework, and tools to bring transformation projects to life in their organization.

“Together we can provide better health for residents, better care for patients, better teams of health providers, and better value for our health dollars,” adds Duncan.
