Access over the University Bridge has been restricted to authorized vehicles like ambulances and the Health Region shuttle since the rehabilitation project began May 3.  But this weekend, the bridge will completely close to traffic.

From Friday, May 29 at 7 p.m. to Monday, June 1 at 6 a.m., no vehicles will be allowed over the bridge at all. The walkway will remain open.

University Bridge in Saskatoon.

University Bridge in Saskatoon will be closed to all vehicles, including ambulances, over this coming weekend. It should reopen to authorized vehicles Monday morning.

All ambulance providers have contingency plans in place to account for this Sunday’s closure and summer restrictions.

All personal vehicles are restricted from using the bridge during the entire project; however, the walkway will remain open. The project is scheduled to be complete by August 30, 2015.

The City has advised that non-authorized vehicles accessing the bridge will be subject to the standard $90 fine for each violation.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the bridge closure impact to your department/service, please contact Saskatoon Health Region Emergency Planner Christa Sather at 306-655-8557 or visit the City of Saskatoon website for updates.
