Tim Hortons annual Smile Cookie campaign was back to bring even more smiles to communities across Canada last week. Starting September 14 for one week, Tim Hortons guests could purchase a freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie for $1 plus tax at participating restaurants, with 100 per cent of the proceeds donated by Tim Hortons restaurant owners to support local charities, hospitals and community programs.

The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan is the partner charity in Saskatoon.

RR-2015-09-23-CHFS-cookies3“The simple act of buying a Smile Cookie for one dollar will have a direct impact on charities in your own community,” says David Clanachan, President and Chief Operating Officer, Tim Hortons Canada. “Through the generosity of our guests and restaurant owners year after year, we continue to raise millions of dollars to help hundreds of deserving local charities.”

“Purchasing a Tim Hortons Smile Cookie is an easy but incredibly powerful way to help raise funds for sick and injured children across Saskatchewan,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. “Since 2008, the generous Saskatoon area franchisees and their loyal guests have come together to raise over $230,000, allowing us to help support children and their families during difficult times.”

Some of the special Smile cookies made their way to the playroom of Acute Care Pediatrics at Royal University Hospital for children and families to enjoy.
