Saskatoon’s first HIV care home aims to open its doors on November 3, 2015. The former Grey Nuns’ residence was donated by St. Paul’s Hospital, with Saskatoon Health Region providing annualized funding of $826,000 in operating money for Sanctum’s first year. The ten-bed facility will provide HIV clients who would otherwise have to be in hospital with medical, peer and cultural support in a home environment.
