Team Communication and Performance is one of six Safer Every Day teams working on implementing breakthrough changes over the course of 90 days to make our system safer.

Led by Dr. Vicki Cattell and Tammy Lucas, this team’s initial focus is on developing and sustaining better communication among patients, families and healthcare professionals to anticipate and catch mistakes before they occur.

The other five teams involved in Safer Every Day include Leadership and Management for Safety, Psychological Safety and Staff Support, Building Capacity for Safety and Quality Improvement, Clinical Process Improvement, and Mortality Review.

The teams will be guided through these three months of safety actions by a dedicated group of physicians, department heads, Health Region vice-presidents, and patient and family advisors, who will oversee the work of the teams in its entirety, ensuring they remain on track towards the overall goals of Safer Every Day.
