In March, Registered Dietitians across the country, including those in Saskatoon Health Region, will be encouraging people to eat better to improve their overall health.

March is Nutrition Month in Canada, and Dietitians of Canada is encouraging Canadians to take a 100 Meal Journey. Most Canadians eat about 100 meals in a month. This campaign focuses on making small, lasting changes and then sticking with it… one meal at a time.

RR-2016-02-24-Nutrition-MonthDietitians hope to inspire the public with ideas to make these small changes, supported by real-life strategies to help make those changes stick.

Saskatoon Health Region’s Dietitians are no exception.

“We want to highlight Nutrition Month in March and highlight International Year of Pulses. Food and Nutrition Services in hospitals in Saskatoon will be recognizing International Year of Pulses with specials in the cafeterias throughout the month of March. We will also have a table of resources in our cafeterias between March 15-17.  These tables will contain recipes and other information to take your own 100 meal journey, about Dietitians of Canada, our national organization, and National Dietitians Day on March 16,” explained Dena Webb-Listwin, Director of Food and Nutrition Services with Saskatoon Health Region.

Follow Saskatoon Health Region on Twitter or Facebook each week in March to catch the various social media posts to help with your 100 meal journey.
