“I am so proud of our team for their work,” said Organizational Learning and Leadership director Patti Simonar. “Coaching has become a key component of our training for leaders across the Region and the province. Leaders learn how to have the right conversations with staff that gives staff the freedom to use their talents, skills and experience to find their own solutions to issues while at the same time ensuring clear goals are in place and outcomes are achieved. We often hear how learning this skill changes a leader’s approach and makes day to day problem solving more collaborative and empowering for staff.”

Coaching is a key competency of successful leaders and will be an integral part of the Patient First Management System. OLL also brings this course offering as part of the Saskatchewan Leadership Program, a provincial healthcare leadership training program.
